Chairman of the Board

  • Mike Hammond has been a project manager and personnel manager for most of his professional career. His experience includes working in distance education, networking, development, banking, and IT security. He has a degree in Network Engineering from Stratford College and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional and Agile Scrum Master. Mike and his wife moved to Fauquier County in 2006 to start their family which has grown to include two daughters, two dogs, two birds, one lizard, one horse, one tortoise, and several fish. He has been involved in the community serving six years as the HOA secretary for his neighborhood, as a volunteer for several local groups including the C. Hunter Ritchie PTO, KRHS Theater Dept., founding member of Fauquier United to Support Education (FUSE), and as an education committee member for the Fauquier branch of the NAACP. He is excited to be a member of the Board of Directors for Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier so that he can continue his efforts to serve the community.

Resource Development

  • Jeff Schrock is an Owner/Partner of Gaithersburg Architectural Millwork (GAM), who’s Corporate Office and manufacturing plant is based in Warrenton, VA. As Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, he oversees the company’s ongoing expansion efforts into emerging markets. Before moving to the area in 2002, Jeff was V.P./Sales Manager for Woodwork Manufacturing & Supply in Hutchinson, KS. He also served as 2001 President of the Kansas Home Builders Assoc., served as Board Member for Reno County Salvation Army and was a graduate of the 1996 class of Leadership Hutchinson. Jeff holds a B.S. Degree in Marketing/Bus.Admin. from Kansas State University. Jeff & his wife, Pam, live in Jeffersonton, Virginia and are active members of The Bridge Community Church in Warrenton. Now that his 3 children are all grown and living out of State, he enjoys his free time volunteering for various charities, missions, golfing, snow skiing and spending time with friends. Jeff has a heart for kids and believes all young people can succeed given an opportunity.

Board Development

  • Troy Washington is a 26-year educator having taught in Fauquier county for 11 years, while currently teaching a 2nd stint in Prince William County at Battlefield High School. He previously taught at Kettle Run High School and had been the Head Boys Basketball since the school opened in 2008. Troy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Virginia State University and a master’s degree in Administrative Leadership from California University of Pennsylvania. Troy is an active member of the Little Union Baptist Church in Dumfries, the Virginia Education Association, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Troy’s passion for both kids and sports has allowed him to create opportunities for the youth of Fauquier county and the club through numerous activities, including yearly summer basketball camps and clinics. He currently lives in Fauquier county with his wife Anne-Marie and his 3 children.

Vice Chair

  • Liz Rose is a native of Fauquier county and lives in the town of Warrenton with her husband, two daughters and two dogs. After working for over a decade in the medical field, Liz decided to follow her dream of helping children learn to cope with trauma and other mental health issues. She earned her degree in psychology, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Mary Washington. After a brief time as an in-home counselor,she joined the Boys & Girls Club staff for four years, developing Club programs, fundraising and mentoring youth. Once a young, single mother herself, she recognizes the Boys & Girls Club as a true blessing for families; giving kids a safe, fun place to go that is affordable for all families. Currently, Liz owns a consulting business that helps address temporary staffing needs in nonprofits. She is thrilled to serve as a Board member and ensure the Club is always a safe haven for those kids that need it most.

Board Development Chair

  • Jasmine is an insurance agent for Charles Robinsons State Farm Agency. She currently has a Bachelor’s in Psychology. She is a volunteer and a partner with the Habitat for Humanity Foundation, along side Habitat’s Women Build, and serves as a volunteer for the PTO at Fauquier County Public Schools. She has two boys who mean the world to her, she enjoys interacting with people, playing sports, and giving back to the community.

Board Secretary

  • Mikayla is a Corporate Manager for Whitecap Enterprises, a private asset management company. She started her career in the fashion industry and has more than 10 years of management experience running successful brands.

    She graduated with a degree in Marketing and Tourism & Events Management from George Mason University. While in school she successfully managed several retail locations worth $3.5m, curated exclusive partnerships with brands and local businesses, and successfully managed and operated multiple store openings.

    In 2021 Mikayla joined Whitecap Enterprises she manages all marketing, some accounting, and some operations for all their acquisitions including Power Trucks USA, Autism F.I.R.S.T., Whitecap Construction Services, Extreme Steel Crane and Rigging, Extreme Steel, Extreme Rentals USA, and several Waste companies.

    Mikayla has a passion for growing and creating successful businesses in a variety of industries. She is always sharpening her marketing and graphic design skills, staying ahead of the ever-evolving trends in several industries, and building solid relationships.

    As a trusted professional, Mikayla is focused on understanding the company’s needs and delivering creative solutions that surpass expectation. She approaches each task with enthusiasm and a commitment to provide exemplary services that go above and beyond the competition.

Legal Committee

  • Fred Kruck is an attorney with 35+ years of experience working with small and large businesses. Fred and his wife Mary moved to Warrenton in 1994 to raise their two children in a family-oriented community. Because they are so family oriented, they understand the role that the Club can play in a child’s or teen’s life and how important that role is to help youth become all they can be. Mary is a devoted and exceptional teacher, while Fred is a soft-hearted dog lover who spoils their rescue, Kate, whenever he can.

Finance Committee

  • Will Austin grew up in Old Town Warrenton and has a big heart for the town he still calls home with his wife, two daughters, and son. He graduated from James Madison University in 2004 with a degree in Finance and spent time teaching English in China before working in General Contracting for 5 years in Southern California and Richmond, VA. He moved back to Warrenton in 2010 to start a Residential Property Management Company out of Gainesville, VA which has grown to now serve property owners all across Northern Virginia.

    Will is an active volunteer and has served on the Boards for Young Life, Rotary Club of Haymarket/Gainesville, National Association of Residential Property Managers, and coaching al things sports related for his kids.

Treasurer

  • Jim Spedden is the Chief Lending Officer at Spectra Credit Union. As a 30-year financial services professional with degrees in Finance and Human Resource Management from the University of Virginia, Jim’s prior volunteer experience includes Board positions with Wesley Housing Development Corporation and Fellowship Square Foundation. Jim also recently served as a committee member with Fauquier Habitat for Humanity.

Finance Committee

  • Sarah Irving is a Lead Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner™ with Meridian Financial Partners providing holistic financial planning and investment management to families, growing professionals, soon-to-be retirees, and everything in between. She is a member of the Women’s Business Council of the Fauquier Chamber, is a 2019 graduate of the Leadership Fauquier program, and is passionate about contributing back to her community and supporting needs in the community particularly those focused on families and children. In her spare time Sarah loves spending time outside tackling projects with her husband, two children, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks.
