Our Story and History

In November of 1997, through the hard work of founders Jerry Wood and Buddy Curtis, the Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier opened its doors at Taylor Middle School. This was made possible by the Town of Warrenton, the County of Fauquier, the Fauquier County Public Schools and many dedicated individuals passionate about youth development.

In late 2009, having out grown Taylor Middle School, Board Chair Jerry Wood negotiated the purchase of the Old Town Athletic Club located at 169 Keith Street in Warrenton.  Soon after, the second club was opened in Cedar Lee Middle School.

For seventeen years, Executive Director Jon Gregory was at the helm.  In August of 2014, the organization’s second Executive Director, Lynne Richman Bell, was installed.

Currently the Club serves approximately 200 members at the two locations and an additional 125 students through targeted outreach and partner programs.
